Structured data provides a machine-readable description of entities and information. Relevant schema can identify an organisation, a service, an article or the relationship between a page and its publisher.

The important starting point is accuracy. Company details should agree with the website. Service information should describe an actual offer. Dates should reflect the relevant publication or modification. Markup should not introduce claims that a visitor cannot verify from the page.

When reviewing a WordPress site, inspect the schema already produced by the theme or SEO plugin before adding another graph. Duplicated or conflicting company identities make maintenance harder.

llms.txt is a reading index

Useful for compatible tools and explicit workflows.

An llms.txt file can provide a curated index of material for tools configured to use it. Markdown alternatives can also make articles convenient to read or supply to a configured research workflow.

These formats can complement a public knowledge base. They do not replace the actual pages, source references, internal links or access checks. Publishing an index does not require an independent assistant to visit it or recommend the business.

Google's official guidance states that special AI markup is not required and llms.txt is not used as a Google Search visibility signal. Treat each format according to its documented purpose, rather than as a universal ranking mechanism.

A useful implementation starts with readable HTML, clear headings and meaningful links. The alternative formats and structured data should reflect the same approved information.

When a service or company fact changes, review the places that reuse it. A structured factual record and a clear publishing process help prevent the main website, wiki and machine-readable files from drifting apart.
