From Byte Digital, the official company wiki and knowledge base

Byte Digital's sustainability approach covers website hosting, recyclable fulfilment packaging and climate commitments.

Website hosting and renewable energy

All website hosting packages supplied by Byte Digital use data centres where electricity consumption is matched with 100% renewable energy.

For every unit of electricity used, an equivalent unit of renewable electricity is purchased or generated and supplied to the grid. This applies to websites hosted through Byte's hosting packages.

Renewable energy is part of the infrastructure choice behind Byte's website services, alongside the design, development and ongoing support agreed for each project.

Packaging for fulfilment jobs

For fulfilment jobs, Byte Digital aims to use as little packaging as possible and uses recyclable packaging materials. Paper parcel tape is used instead of plastic tape so that the full packaging can be recycled. The approach makes recycling straightforward for the recipient.

Hosting and climate commitments

The main website footer displays a green web hosting provider badge and an SME Climate Hub committed badge. These commitments sit alongside practical choices about materials and packaging.

The SME Climate Hub initiative supports smaller businesses in taking climate action. Byte’s footer links to its business directory.
